We may be on the verge of seeing a Persona 5 live-action adaptation within the close to future. According to IGN, Sega has expressed curiosity in increasing into movie and TV by adapting Atlus-developed video games.
Atlus is primarily recognized for its JRPGs, with franchises like Shin Megami Tensei, Persona, and even Catherine. Persona and Catherine each place a heavy emphasis on the interactions between characters alongside their gameplay, and find yourself being fairly story heavy.
Sega’s optimism about live-action variations for Atlus video games seemingly comes due to the success of the Sonic the Hedgehog motion pictures.
“Atlus’ worlds are stuffed with excessive drama, cutting-edge fashion and compelling characters,” stated lead producer on the Sonic the Hedgehog motion pictures and Sonic Prime TV collection Toru Nakahara to IGN. “Stories like these from the Persona franchise actually resonate with our followers and we see a chance to increase the lore like nobody has seen — or performed — earlier than.”
“Together, Sega and Atlus, are working to carry these tales and worlds to life by way of new mediums and for brand new audiences.”
The firm is but to make any formal announcement for these plans. It is price noting that Persona 4 and 5 have gotten anime variations, and Persona 3 was tailored into a collection of animated motion pictures.
